Advice for Muslim Parents on Relationships and Sex Education

As our children enter the new academic new year, some schools in England will be “early-adopters” of the new statutory curriculum on Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) from September 2019, ahead of compulsory adoption by all schools in England by September 2020.

Whilst in practice most schools already have a curriculum in place that teaches about these issues, updated statutory guidance and FAQs (including Arabic, Urdu and Somali translations) by the Department for Education (DfE) was published in early 2019 stating that from September 2020:

  • Relationship Education will be taught as standard in all primary schools in England
  • Relationship & Sex Education will be taught as compulsory in all secondary schools in England

This book will enable the parents with the correct tools to teach our children of relationship and what islam teaches us about Relationships and Sex.

The Book will help the reader to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life, The reader will have knowledge that will enable them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships and to build their self-efficacy.
