Ibn Ajrum is one of the most important scholars who appeared in the Maghreb, where he lived during the 13th and 14th centuries, and his sciences and knowledge varied between Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic readings, intonation, and language sciences. Hence, he was called Ibn Ajrum.

Indeed, he began his journey through the Egyptian city of Cairo, where he resided for a period of time and studied under Abu Hayyan Muhammad bin Yusuf Al-Gharnati, and obtained from him a license in Grammar and language.Upon his arrival in Mecca, he resided there for a period of time and composed his famous agronomists, after which he decided to return to the city of Fez, which seems to have decided that he would start teaching the Holy Qur’an and grammar, in the Andalusian neighborhood mosque and remained there .

He was buried in Bab al-Jizin, known to the people of Morocco as Bab al-Hamra, to the right of Bab al-Futuh in the city of Fez. Al-Muqaddimah Al-Ajurumieh fi Principles of Arabic Science Al-Ajrūmiyyah is one of the most important books in grammar, developed by Ibn Ajrum, and it seems that he called it by many names such as Matn al-Ajrūmiyyah or al-Muqaddimah al-Ajrūmiyya, and linguists considered it one of the most important Arabic books written in the science of grammar.
Perhaps this is the reason why many Arabic linguists and grammar specialists responded by explaining and simplifying it to students wishing to study the Arabic language and grammar sciences . It is very broad, so Ibn Ajrum took over its explanation, simplification and shortening. As for the Ajurumiyyah, it consisted of 145 chapters in which it dealt with all the rules of grammar, morphology, sounds, poetic necessities, the conjugation of verbs, and the way to express them. It is worth noting that this ajārūmiyyah has spread widely among students of science, due to the simplicity of the method, and it has come to be called the science itself, which deals with the explanation of the origins of the language and its characteristics as well as its rules.
