His passion for writing and translating Kitaabs became a defining aspect of his life, with Kitaabs serving as his constant companions both at home and during his travels.

As a testament to his dedication, Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias leaves behind an enduring legacy—a compilation, translation, and publication of over 600 books, covering every sphere of Islamic knowledge imaginable. This remarkable achievement reflects his profound commitment to sharing the wisdom and teachings of Islam with the world.

One of Mufti Saheb's notable accomplishments was the translation of Mufti Aashiq Illahi's (RA) tafseer, "Anwaar ul Bayaan" or "Illuminating Discourses of the Noble Qur'an." This extensive translation, spanning 10 volumes, was the first complete tafseer translated into English, consisting of approximately 500 pages per volume.

His contributions also include the widely accepted translation of the Quran, titled "Quran Made Easy," known for its accessibility to both the general public and the Ulama fraternity. Mufti Saheb's versatility shines through in his works, which range from an easy step-by-step guide on Hajj to comprehensive guides on Islamic cupping and Hijamah.

Furthermore, Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias made significant strides in making Islamic knowledge accessible to all, with many of his publications recorded in audio format for the benefit of the blind. In his service to the community, Mufti Saheb served as the Deputy Ameer of the Jamiatul Ulama KZN, actively contributing to the organization's mission to protect and uplift the Deen. His wisdom and guidance were highly valued during Shura meetings, where he adeptly navigated and resolved intricate issues.

Despite his busy schedule, Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias maintained a close link with the community, seen at different Masaajid for each Salah and delivering Jumuah lectures throughout the country. His dedication to the Jumuah platform was evident even in the week of his demise, as he had agreed to deliver the Friday's Jumuah in Stanger.

Mufti Saheb's impact extended globally through his travels, where he tirelessly spread the message of Islam, often delivering multiple discourses each day. His noble habits, such as always remaining in the state of Wudhu, and his commitment to Salaah in congregation endeared him to all who knew him.

Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias, with his cool and calm persona coupled with warm and friendly nature, captured the hearts of many and was held in high esteem across the globe. His passing is an immense loss to the Ummah, and we pray that Allah Ta'ala accepts his devotion, sacrifices, and services for His Deen.
